OGG — Obraval Governance Gate

Determine whether there is enough reason to examine governance visibility more deeply.

The Obraval Governance Gate is the initial screening phase of the Obraval Governance Standard.

It examines whether an unseen, partial, or unresolved governance-visibility condition could materially affect the leadership decision or resource commitment currently in view.

The Gate identifies whether there is a credible decision-relevant reason not to stop at surface-level visibility.

OGG does not establish that a governance gap exists. It does not diagnose an underlying condition, determine control effectiveness, or certify complete visibility.

How the Gate Works

One defined decision. Six governed visibility questions.

OGG is completed in relation to a specific leadership decision, resource commitment, or governance judgment.

Each Gate question is examined in sequence.

Materiality is considered before the visibility response. Where a non-YES response requires a condition or decision-linked rationale, that record must be completed before the Gate advances.

The Gate does not use a numerical score, traffic-light tally, or automatic clearance threshold.

Each response remains bounded to the decision context and evidence available at the time the Gate is completed.

A Position 1 result means that no material governance-visibility concern was identified through the Gate for the defined decision context. It does not certify complete visibility, correctness, future stability, or the absence of conditions outside the Gate’s scope.

Positions 2 and 3 identify a governed reason for deeper examination. They do not prove that an underlying governance fracture exists.
